After we left the zoo, we went and caught the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry. We managed to get there just as a ferry was leaving, so we got to wait for about 20 minutes before the next ferry departed. Ellie had fun playing around in the car. She at snacks, climbed all around the back seat, played with her new bushbaby Grandma Kerry got her at the zoo, and even enjoyed sitting behind the wheel for a while.
We enjoyed the ferry ride, even though it was only about 20 minutes long. Then we kept driving to Port Angeles and grabbed a few supplies before heading to the Heart O' the Hills campsite in Olympic National Park. The park was so green and beautiful! Here is a picture of our first campsite.
If you look to the left, you can see the enormous tree route that was part of our campsite. This is the night that we learned to be very appreciative that Dad and Kerry lent us skip-bo since we had to stay outside the tent but in our site whenever Ellie napped or as we put her to bed. We were amazed at how well she did sleeping in the tent at night. We were worried that she might send us home early if she wasn't enjoying being on the road, but she did so well we got to stay out the whole time we planned to and had a lot of fun!
